Nonet – first rain

the build up dream or allegory
weight of the air behind my eyes.
the sound of pips spitting tin
hissing roofs, clamour to
fugitive stone, all
that sodden dust
rills and rucks
squirl of
mud.


So it’s raining for the first time in ages here in eastern Australia. And here’s Frédéric Chopin’s “Raindrop” Prelude, Op 28, No. 15.
