truth is art

tell me again beauty said, say it for
real, tell me with your heart about art
unequivocally. distracted by the winter bright i
tried all the lines i could find but no, i saw
her face close, the potch of her lips — summer’s decline.
idiot, fool, afraid of the feel & the truth about art.
she shrugged & turned back to the screen —
a place of answers for everything —
returning some semblance of truth —
truthier than truth, artful for art.

  1. A shrug and a turn away from truth. Gosh, there’s a lot of that happening in the world lately. Peter, I’m delighted to see that this week’s Twiglet inspired you to write. Thanks for joining in.
