More global wanderings with today’s musical offering: Maya Youssef with her album Finding Home (and here on Youtube). Maya is a qanun player from Damascus, Syria, now living in the UK. A qanun is a 78-stringed Middle Eastern plucked zither.
This brought back so many fond memories of when we lived in Sausalito. There were oodles of them about. Pelicans are amazing. Surprisingly graceful for their bulk. Thanks for the YouTube link. I enjoyed that. Very thoughtful.

Yes, they’re super energy efficient birds. Summertime they hang in the thermals above my place, barely flapping. P

Very neat and image, things have to be so still to get a shot like that. the smooth monochrome of the water is amazing with its mirrored, textured images.
