MISSING YOU ALREADY (Pelecanus conspicillatus)
– pelicans climbing thermals, wings still, feathers dig into the air skywriting your name in cursive – or at least that’s an s and that’s an o –
– I swear that for a moment the whole pod came together and there was your face, hair falling over your eyes, your nose outlined in pelicans –
– but before I could return with the camera the wind had taken you higher and off to the east –
